phone goes, DDD drags self into kitchen

DDD: "hullo"
P: "hullo sir, this is [xx] from [yy] insurance! how are you this morning?"
DDD: "fine, get on with it" <--- !!! omg where did this come from?

[ok rest of call = "follow-up salespitch" of typically annoying type but ffs he was just bein pleasant!]

i am right now tranferrin all my singles from a little cheapie bookcase which started to collapse and was only stopped basically by the friction of its contents (ie 7"s in paper in and cardboard)

as i removed them the bookcase collapsed further, in the process slightly jolting my computer table (which is very unstable); all the CDs piled on it, ever-so-slightly caused to tremble, IMMEDIATELY ALL FELL ALL OVER EVERYWHERE -- jewelcase = POO-elcase more like bah pah gah)

whatever the other faults and probs of mp3s, they not FALL ALL OVER THE FKN FLOOR periodically

There is something simultaneously satisfying, annoying and fatalistic about a stack of cds tumbling. You know it's happening, but there is no point in trying to stop them as they are too shiny and frictionless, they are going everywhere whatever you try to do. It is not like a pile of books, which can be held up until reinforcements arrive.

I don't even answer my mobile.

I am very, very rude to cold callers - I mean, I don't shout at them or anything, I just hang up without bothering to speak - but do not feel bad about it.
