    Time Event
    9:53a
    the wick effect
ok those who have been to my house will have noticed in the bathroom a rather tired-looking wax sculpture thing mostly made rawther a long time ago -- the wax from candles when i lit the bathroom with candles would run down and had gathered into an exciting wax waterfall down the shelves the candles were on, except

a: red wax fades a lot over time
b: impossible to dust so was

anyway the actual real electric light in the bathroom isn't working -- in fact all the overhead electrics have failed -- and i was using multiple candles again, four in a tight bundle, and left them after i had my bath bcz i forgot abt em and a while later noticed the ominous flickering light of an open blaze -- they had burnt right down to create a pool of wax in the candleholder and the dust and bits of old wick and match embedded in the wax waterfall were acting as a network of wicks, and had turned the whole sculture into a giant candle which burnt for ages, and melted most of the top layer of the waterfall!

so kind of hurrah: bcz i had been planning to redo this for ages as it was looking a bit old and rub and ugly -- tho now i probably also need to repaint the ceiling as it looks like the aftermath of a small chipfire (it's been candlesmoke stained for ages but much worse this morning) but i have been needing to redo the entire bathroom actually (toilet bowl cracked from someone stood on it ages ago; limescale in bath is an eyesore; basin is no longer attached the the wall; plaster by now useless light-pull is all chipped away; lino is medieval ect ect)
