er blimey, WELL, when i first first started on the internet at ilx -- courtesy an invite by freakytigger curse you i want my life back i wrote all propah and grown-up wiv my FULL NAME, but two things happened. (i) a small no.of ppl already knew my name and it sorta skewed the conversation in a way i disliked, and (ii) i encountered and enjoyed and unconsciously chameleoned the non-standard way some ppl spoke, plus (iii) my natural style even when all propah and grown-up is a bit compacted and ellipticasl PLUS i wz bunkin off work same as i am now, which is subbin an proofin and bein all nazi abt grammar an that, AND THIS IS AN HOLIDAY.... so sloppy speed is my bitch, wahey

i read a ton of this when i was a kid -- my dad collected it on his regular monthly commutes to head office in london, and ended up with a really interesting (somewhat random) collection -- then i "grew out" of it when i became a Disenchanted Punk Rockah and hardly read any until a couple of years ago, when tracerhand suggested we do a radioshow devoted to classic sf short stories (blimey that lj community didn't take off did it?)
