he is the feline sun!

there are two things i like about him:
i. d00d i wz 5! what an awesome concept (obv i copied the idea from somewhere but i still feel it demonstrates bold conceptual daring)
ii. the sun is red not yellow! i don't know if this is some kind of "they fought it out the livelong day, victory undecided until at last the fiery orb began to sink in the fading sky" or "HA! YOU PUNY COLOUR-CONFORMISTS i paint what i FEEL not what i SEE"

also iii. the eponymous boots are very dandy indeed

hehe, having seen the original i can't wait for you to upload the rest.

might crashing be caused by size/quality of images? it does look pretty big which would probably take up quite a lot of memory in slightly old computer...

yes i think it is probably that, but at the moment i can't work out how to scan reasonably low-res first time round -- they are coming in at 9meg, then Presto! Page-manager crashes -- then i open via preview and save at c.800k and all is fine

obviously this takes ages

hmmm, knowing 0 about macs i am unsure as to how to fix it, i'd guess there'd be a scanning resolution changing dooberry somewhere in the settings...

checking carefully by holding it up to the light i see that on the reverse of the "County Planning Officer's Recommendations" (= "KILL A DRAGON") the year is early 1967 not 1965 so i was 6 or 7 rather than 5

The dragon is a dragon on top but is a whale when looked at from the side.
